Villa Sandsund, a national romantic building designed by Birger Federley in 1912, is located on Herrainmäki in Tampere. Herrainmäki is within walking distance from Tampere city center, located between Lake Näsijärvi and the city center, close to the well-known Finlayson factory area and the canal. The building has been in the city's ownership for decades and has been used for office purposes.

The new owners acquired the property from the city in 2021. Their vision was to transform the space into a boutique hotel that offers high-quality and unique accommodation services. Nádor + Nádor was tasked with designing seven distinct and immersive hotel rooms as well as the public areas within the building. The design work placed special emphasis on highlighting the unique features and details of the villa’s original architecture.
